It seems that every year we must deal with legislative issues that can affect our industry.  Bills have been introduced in both the Senate and the House that would extend the Military APR of 36%  to all loan customers . The bills are being referred to as the "Veterans and Consumers Fair Credit Act".  It is very important that we all continue to support our state and national association. The Alabama Pawnbrokers Association and the National Pawnbrokers Association will both be working to prevent these bills from becoming law.

The FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Section is happy to announce on November 19, 2019, all NICS E-Check passphrases will change from a 90-day expiration to a 180-day expiration.
