2020 Membership Dues
It seems that every year we must deal with legislative issues that can affect our industry. Bills have been introduced in both the Senate and the House that would extend the Military APR of 36% to all loan customers . The bills are being referred to as the "Veterans and Consumers Fair Credit Act". It is very important that we all continue to support our state and national association. The Alabama Pawnbrokers Association and the National Pawnbrokers Association will both be working to prevent these bills from becoming law.
It is important that we stay informed on what is happening in Montgomery and Washington. We appreciate all the work that our lobbyist, Mike Weeks, does to keep us informed on all of the state issues. We also appreciate the updates that Mike sends to us each week during the legislative session.
It is now time for all of us to pay our $100.00 for our 2020 dues. We are working very hard to protect all pawnbrokers in Alabama. We need all pawnshops to be members of the association.
